Marle Woman: Kate Bucceri

Marle Women is created to celebrate our philosophy of designing pieces for women of all ages and stages of their lives. We hope each interview inspires you, the same way in which these women do to us.

Here, we speak with National PR Manager of Tiffany & Co, wife and new mother of baby Gio, Kate Bucceri about her effortlessly elegant style philosophy, the importance of surrounding yourself with people that lift you up, and her take on personal ritual.

As the National PR Manager at iconic jewellery brand Tiffany & Co and now new mum to baby Gio, have you found your day to day style has changed? How?

Oh wow, so much! Now that I am home most days I am living in loungewear or something easy to throw on like a well cut dress or shirt. I still like getting ready each morning, I think it's important mentally for me and not hang out in my pjs but it's obviously comfort and ease over being super glamorous. In saying that I am really looking forward to getting back to work and dressing up each day - I miss the ritual of wearing special pieces such as jewellery or a beautiful bag to lift my mood.

What is your take on a personal ritual? Do you have any rituals when getting dressed each morning?

I am a big believer in looking after your skin so without fail every morning I have my morning coffee in bed with Gio and my husband and then after showering slather myself in my skincare for the day. I also love putting on my jewellery, and never leave the house without a pair of earrings or my rings. Anything to add a little touch of something special and make me feel like I’ve had some sleep!

Can you share a little bit about yourself, your background, career and upbringing? What aspects have contributed to the woman you are today?

I was born and raised in sunny QLD and moved to Sydney about 15 years ago. Sydney has always felt like home for me and it’s such a special place to live. I have been fortunate enough to be with Tiffany & Co. for 15 years, can you believe it! I started in marketing and shifted to focus on public relations specifically about seven years ago, where I feel I really found my calling. Tiffany & Co. is a special place to work - such an iconic brand with the most incredible history. I feel as though I am the woman I am today from the influence of the people around me. My parents are a big influence, giving me strength and determination and my husband with kindness and creativity. The team at work are also a huge inspiration, becoming more like a family and challenging me to constantly evolve.

How would you describe your personal style? Has it always been this way, or has it evolved over the years?

My style has definitely evolved since becoming a mum. Prior to, I absolutely lived for trends and super coveted items. Now, I am feeling much more pared back in my style, choosing pieces that are versatile and wearable. I like to invest in one or two key items a season to inject some newness and mix in my well loved classics.

What do you wish people were more aware of? Is there something you wish was more openly discussed?

Women supporting other women, hands down. I have been so fortunate to be around strong, supportive women that constantly lift me up. I believe some women are so quick to judge others and women especially out of everyone always have so much on their plate. Since becoming a mum I am in awe of all mothers out there and have so much respect for everything women do for their families. It's a constant juggle and I think we can all get swept up in our busy daily lives but need to stop and remember to be kind.

"Marle is one of the few brands that create beautiful transeasonal pieces that still look cool and are also incredibly well made - the perfect investment each season"
What is a piece of personal wisdom that you carry with you?

No one is going to hand you anything for free, you have to work hard to get there.

You’ve been a supporter of Marle for some time now, what do you love most about the brand?

They make classics for cool girls. Marle is one of the few brands that create beautiful transeasonal pieces that still look cool and are also incredibly well made - the perfect investment each season.

Quickfire Questions:
Most treasured accessory?

My engagement ring from my beautiful husband and my diamond ring I wear as my wedding band that my parents actually gave me for my 21st.

Texture or colour?

Texture hands down. But I need to move away from a neutral palate - trying to inject some more colour for summer!

Summer or winter?

Oh too easy - summer in a heartbeat.

Listening To:

To be very honest right now The Wiggles (ha!) but I love music from the 70s - Fleetwood Mac, King Harvest, Carole King.

Reading:

The last book I read was Catch and Kill, which I really enjoyed. I haven't been reading as much as I would like to at the moment but it's my ultimate ‘me time’ activity.

Cooking:

I am not going to lie, I barely cook as my husband is Italian and his food is out of this world. Definitely scored in this department - he is so talented, making fresh pasta multiple times a week and really experimental in the kitchen never following a recipe. One of my favourite things he makes is his ragu which he cooks over two days - insane!
